Minister’s Musings …. [Hurry ... Hurry ... Hurry ... We need to run the Mirror! I!] What a great Easter celebration we enjoyed! Our breakfast, egg hunt, and our worship service made it truly a day to be remembered. Only sad note was the passing of a long time, dedicated member, friend and mentor Jim Waterman. We will have an opportunity to celebrate his life, too, on Saturday, April 14th (following the 8 am breakfast featuring Saundra Bryant, Executive Director of All Peoples ChristianCenter, and the work day). This Easter time is truly a season of life!!! Thanks be to God. Our DOC student, Molly Wilson, will be joining us in worship on April 22nd, and it will be her last “hoorah” here as she will be graduating this year. What a joy she is and has been for FCC Bakersfield these past couple of years. Speaking of DOCstudents and Chapman University (notice this rather blunt transition) Mandy Morley will be entering Chapman this fall! Good luck Mandy and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. But on a more powerful and personal note - we celebrated Easter. Imagine. God’s Son walked and taught, laughed and cried, ate and drank, and died on a cross between. two thieves. Yet, but three days later, he arose from the tomb and gave us advice on how to live so that we too can be conquerors of death. Imagine that. As Paul so often reminds us we serve a Lord who lived, died, and was resurrected. What more can weask for, hope for, desire, or imagine. We should be living every day as a gift from our Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer. We are to be a loving, compassionate, caring, assisting people who welcome all of God’s children as we would be welcomed. What a gift Easter is for us. Blessings, honor, glory and power be unto you.
